Anxiety While Pregnant – It Happens A Lot

They say pregnancy is going to be the happiest and most joyous time of your life. As a mother of a 2 year old girl (which means the whole pregnancy experience is still fresh and remembered) I am here to tell you that is a big fat lie. Although it was an amazing experience to carry life inside myself and I was obsessed with the idea of two hearts beating inside me, I couldn’t wait for it to be over. Besides being thoroughly sick of having my head down the toilet and seeing things not meant to be seen, anxiety while pregnant was the worst part.

Anxiety While Pregnant

Anxiety is one of the many things that tag along with pregnancy. According to research, 33% women suffer due to anxiety but only 20% seek out any help. It is because anxiety is listed as one of the many things you go through, that women take this lightly. Don’t take this lightly. You deserve to spend your pregnancy as comfortably as possible because soon enough your little bundle of joy will take all the attention off you.

If you can feel the below mentioned symptoms then this means you are among the 33%.

  • Irritable or agitated
  • Tensed all the time and thoughts beyond your control
  • Muscle pain
  • Disturbed sleep
  • Extreme restlessness
  • Just tired ALL THE TIME
  • Can’t focus on anything

Since most of the above mentioned symptoms are general symptoms of pregnancy, so it is difficult to tell one from the other. But if you feel too jittery even for a pregnant woman, then get the help you need. You are going to give birth soon and your life is going to turn around a full circle, so put yourself first because this trend will end one the baby makes his/her big entrance.

Also, be sure to mention this to your gynecologist about your anxiety and he/she will tell you how to deal with it best. If you are taking home remedies, talk it over with the doctor first and anything you try should be recommended by him/her. Pregnancy is no time to be experimenting with anything.

With that said, ladies or concerned partners of pregnant women, make sure you talk to your partner about how you/ they are feeling because the love and care of loved one works better than any remedy.
